About Us

Sarah and Brandon

CXBO Chocolates is an award-winning collection of handcrafted confections created in 2015 by chef Brandon Olsen and artist/filmmaker Sarah Keenlyside.

The jewel-like signature bonbons, colourful Disco Eggs, and hand-painted bars and packaging are products of Brandon’s passion for innovate flavours and Sarah’s bold visual ideas. A self-taught chocolatier, Brandon became intrigued by the French bonbon tradition during his time working under Chef Thomas Keller and his team of chocolatiers at the world-famous French Laundry in Napa Valley, California.

Operating from a storefront in Kensington Market, Sarah and Brandon are proud to be part of the historic neighborhood’s lineage of makers and food. Every CXBO chocolate confection is handmade with love in the grand tradition of French chocolatiers like Franck Berger.

In 2017, Brandon and Sarah opened Restaurant La Banane (named Canada’s Best New Restaurant 2017), where reimagined French classic dishes are complimented by an extensive raw bar. The CXBO Disco Egg, served in opulent style with a gold spoon, is the star of the after-dinner menu and has been frequently hailed in the media as the “most Instagrammable dessert of 2017.”
